Pastor Tom and Patty have been doing ministry for most of their married years. Pastor Tom has worked in a homeless shelter, a nursing home, nine years as a Youth Minister, and now is in his second head Pastorate at First. Patty has taught Confirmation class, mentored youth, taught English to refugees, went on mission trips, and attended many youth events and retreats. Patty's first love is art and loves any chance to create art or drag the Pastor to a art show.

Together they bring a passion to do the work of Christ on earth. They came to First Church in May of 2007 as change agents determined to re-inspire an already thriving congregation. Since then the music has been updated, multi-media is used in worship, Youth Groups are meeting regularly, and several mission projects have happened with more in the works. If you asked the Pastor his passion he would tell you, "I love to preach the sermon." Tom's sermons change weekly from a very formal style up front, to walking and talking, monologes in character. In a nutshell Pastor Tom likes to make worship a fun time motivated by the Spirit of Jesus Christ. He also enjoys writing plays for youth that are used in place of the sermon and often taken to nursing homes.
